  • Sit-down (Café / Brunch): €10 – €20

Lunch

For lunch in Greece prices vary depending on the type of food and location, with street food remaining the most budget-friendly option. The average cost per person is:

  • Street Food (Souvlaki / Gyros): €5 – €10
  • Taverna (Light meal): €10 – €18
  • Restaurant (Full meal): €20 – €35+

Dinner

Dinner in Greece  is typically the most expensive meal of the day, due to alcohol consumption and the choice of more elaborate dishes. The average cost per person is:

  • Budget Taverna: €15 – €25
  • Mid-range Restaurant: €30 – €50
  • Fine Dining / Gourmet: €60 – €150+

Transportation Costs

For travel within the city (Metro, Bus, Tram):

  • Adult (Standard fare):
    • 90 minutes: €1.20
    • 24 hours: €4.10
    • 5 days: €8.20
  • Child / Teen (ages 7–18):
    • Reduced fare: €0.50 for 90 minutes

For travel within the city by TAXI (depends on the distance traveled:

  • The minimum fare is €4.00
  • Medium distance (5–8 km): €8–€14.
  • Long distance (8-15 km): €18–€30.

Transfers to/from Athens International Airport

  • Metro: €9.00 (Standard) / €4.50 (Reduced)
  • Express Bus (X95, X96, etc.): €5.50 (Standard) / €2.70 (Reduced)
  • TAXI:  fare to and from the airport to the city center ranges from €45–€50 during daytime hours and from €60–€80 during nighttime hours.

Visa Information

Visa Requirements

Participants are responsible for checking whether they require a short-stay Schengen visa (Type C) to travel to Greece. Visa requirements vary depending on nationality. If you require a visa, please contact the competent Greek Embassy, Consulate, or Visa Application Centre in your country for information on the application process and the required supporting documents.

Visa Invitation Letter

Participants who require a visa to travel to Greece should complete the Visa Invitation Letter Request Form and send it to valentina@worldhumanforum.earth

Upon receipt and verification of the required information, the Conference Secretariat will issue an official Visa Invitation Letter to support the participant’s visa application.

Please note that:

  • The Visa Invitation Letter is issued solely to support the visa application process and does not guarantee that a visa will be granted.
  • The visa application must be submitted by the participant to the competent Greek Embassy, Consulate, or Visa Application Centre.
  • The conference organizers are not responsible for visa decisions, processing times, or any costs related to obtaining a visa.

Travelling with Minors

Participants travelling with minors should contact the competent Greek Embassy or Consulate, as well as the relevant authorit es in their country of residence, to verify the documentation required for entry into and departure from Greece.

According to information provided by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, additional documentation, such as parental consent or authorization letters, may be required when minors travel with only one parent or with another accompanying adult. As requirements vary depending on the nationality of the minor and the regulations of the country of departure, participants should always verify the applicable requirements before travelling.

Departure from Greece

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs generally recommends the following documentation when a minor departs from Greece:

Minor travelling with one parent

  • A written parental consent (authorization letter) from the parent who is not travelling.
  • The consent letter should bear a certified signature issued by a competent authority (e.g. Notary Public, Police Authority, or Greek Consulate).
  • It is also recommended to carry the child’s birth certificate or a family status certificate (translated into English, where applicable), particularly if the child and the accompanying parent have different surnames.

Minor travelling with a teacher or another accompanying adult

  • A written authorization signed by both parents or the legal guardian authorizing the named adult to accompany the minor.
  • The authorization must include certified signatures issued by the competent authority in the country where the document was issued.
  • The accompanying adult should carry a valid passport or national identity card for presentation during border control.

As entry and exit requirements may change and individual circumstances may differ participants are encouraged to verify all travel requirements with the competent authorities before travelling.
